Daniel 9:15-19

Each willing member of the household should openly confess their sins as much as possible. It is important to not interrupt or blame. You must repent before God and move forward! Repentance can be a family affair and individual. Now read the following cry for mercy from Prayer Warrior Daniel:

“Now, Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. 16 Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.

17 “Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor on your sanctuary, our home

18 Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the tabernacle that bears we have dedicated to you. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.

19 Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because we, your people, bear your Name.”

Now begin to ask God for mercy. Simply say Lord have mercy on us. Continue praying for mercy until the presence of the Lord is felt. I strongly suggest worship music during this process. Now is the time for open and private confessions.

* This is not the time to yell or argue. The confessions are to God, for your home! If you suspect that this exercise will do more harm than good, I strongly suggest private confessions, or the completion of this exercise with your Pastor, Christian Counselor, or a mature and trusted Child of God.

Luke 18:35

And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

Don’t leave this potent weapon on the table. Let me give you a real-life story about mercy. I hope it makes you chuckle when you consider the pure irony. You should recognize this story.

Mark 5:1 (Mercy Personified)

And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

This is a story that illustrates just how amazing the mercy of Jesus is to everyone and everything. Let’s take a discerning look at this scripture. It not only gives a view of the mercy of Jesus, but the evil marine strongman and his many cohorts gave a very revealing blueprint to answered prayers.

1. Listen for the voice of the Lord.

Marine Spirit: “But when he saw

Jesus afar off, he ran”

2. Fall down and worship

Marine Spirit: worshipped him,

3. Find out the will of God.

Marine Spirit: And cried with a

loud voice, and said, What have I to

do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the

most high God?”

4. Humble yourself and make the petition in the name of Jesus

Marine Spirit: I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

5. Be Specific

Marine Spirit: And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

So there you have it. An evil confederation of spirits had the insight to worship Jesus and pray to him in the name of God. He did this correctly postured in humility, and his prayer was answered. If an evil troop of marine spirits can have their prayers answered, there is no reason you will leave your battle without victory.
